If you are not currently certified, you will need to complete training in advance of the event.

You can complete the theory and pool work at your local dive shop (we have recommendations for great dive shops in Toronto, Florida, and New York), and you'll have the option to complete your Open Water Checkout Dives at Sunset House or your local dive shop.

To complete your Open Water Checkout Dives at Sunset House, you will need to arrive on or before June 2. Feel free to contact us for more information and pricing.

If it's been over two years since the last time you were diving, a Refresher Course is required by Sunset House. This can be completed in advance at your local dive shop or on arrival day at Sunset House (June 4).

Yes! You can definitely bring a buddy to dive with who isn’t joining the main conference.

Non-conference guests are responsible for their own hotel package fees, and will have the option to register as a full attendee. If they register as a full attendee, they will be able to attend all events and dives (and the conference sessions, should they wish).

There are two costs - a conference registration fee and a hotel package fee, based on room type selected.

All conference events and dives: Gain cutting-edge insights from industry leaders and enjoy breathtaking underwater experiences. This includes daily breakfast and lunch, three mornings of two-tank boat dives, (including a dive on the world-famous Kittiwake wreck), and unlimited shore diving on the beautiful house reef (air or nitrox).

Airport transfers in Grand Cayman and daily transportation: We’ll ensure you travel comfortably throughout the event.

DC26 swag: Receive exclusive conference memorabilia to commemorate the experience.

Gratuities: Additional gratuities for the amazing dive crew are always welcome, at your discretion.

The hotel package fee and conference fee for DESCENT \\ CYBER cover many aspects of your stay and experience, but there are a few items not included:

• Flights to and from Grand Cayman: Attendees are responsible for arranging their own air travel.

• Room Charges: Discretionary additional room charges are the responsibility of each individual guest (ie. additional snacks/meals, bar beverages, etc).

• Travel and Dive Insurance: We strongly recommend purchasing travel and dive insurance, but it is not included in the package.

• Scuba Certification: If you are not already certified, scuba certification courses will be available (see FAQ above). Ask us for more information!

• Rental Gear: All the dive gear you need is available at the dive shop, if you aren’t bringing your own equipment. Let us know if you have any specific questions.

We aim to make your experience as smooth as possible, and our team will be happy to assist you in arranging additional services if needed.

Absolutely! We encourage attendees to extend their stay on the island and explore Grand Cayman (or get some additional dives in). This is subject to availability at Sunset House.
